How to play Nonogram

  1. Choose a puzzle. Read row clues from left to right and column clues from top to bottom. Each number gives the length of a filled run; separate runs with at least one empty square.
  2. Select Fill to color a square, Mark to place an ×, or Erase to clear it. Tap a square again with the same tool to clear that mark. A 0 clue means the whole line is empty.
  3. Use Undo to step back through up to 200 edits. Green clues mean that line currently matches, but every row and column must match to finish.
  4. Fill all the correct squares to complete the picture. Empty-square marks are optional. Restart clears only the current puzzle, after confirmation.

Controls

Click or tap squares with Fill, Mark, or Erase selected. Right-click toggles an ×. Keyboard: arrows move, Space fills, X marks, Delete erases, and Z undoes. F, C, and E select a tool.

A few good moves

  • Start with long runs that leave little room to move.
  • Compare the row and column clues at each square.
  • Use marks and Undo to keep track of your reasoning.

Each Nonogram saves its squares, marks, selected tool, and up to 200 undo steps in this browser. Switching puzzles keeps separate progress; restarting clears only that puzzle.
