How to play Killer Sudoku

  1. Choose a puzzle, then tap a square and enter a digit. Each row, column, and bold 3×3 box must contain every digit from 1 to 9 exactly once.
  2. A dashed cage groups adjacent squares. Its small number is the sum of all its digits. Digits cannot repeat anywhere in a cage, even across different rows, columns, or boxes.
  3. Use Notes to toggle candidate digits in empty squares. Erase clears the selected square and its notes. Undo reverses up to 200 edits, including after a refresh or completion.
  4. Check highlights rule conflicts. No conflicts so far does not prove unfinished entries are correct. Fill all 81 squares and satisfy every Sudoku and cage rule to finish.
  5. Switching puzzles preserves each puzzle separately. Restart asks before clearing the current puzzle and its undo history; other puzzles stay saved.

Controls

Tap a square, then use the on-screen digits. Keyboard: 1–9 enters digits, N toggles Notes, Backspace/Delete/0 erases, arrows move between squares, and Z undoes an edit.

A few good moves

  • Every row, column, and 3×3 box totals 45.
  • A two-square cage totaling 3 must contain 1 and 2; use the surrounding rows and columns to decide their order.
  • Selecting a square highlights its cage and shows the target and entered sum. Keep candidates in Notes as possibilities narrow.

Each Killer Sudoku saves its digits, candidate notes, selection, note mode, and up to 200 undo steps separately in this browser. Refresh or switch puzzles to resume; restarting clears only the current puzzle.
