How to play Suguru

  1. Choose a 5×5 or 6×6 puzzle. Thick borders separate regions; each region has at most five squares. A three-square region uses 1, 2 and 3 once each, a five-square region uses 1–5.
  2. Matching digits cannot touch in any of the eight directions, including diagonally and across region borders. There is no whole-row or whole-column uniqueness rule.
  3. Select a square to highlight its region and touching neighbors. The panel shows its allowed digit range; larger digits are disabled. Given digits have a small diamond and cannot change.
  4. Use Notes for manual candidates, Erase to clear a square and Undo to reverse up to 200 edits. Check highlights rule conflicts without claiming that unfinished entries are correct.
  5. Fill every square and satisfy every region and neighbor rule to finish. Progress saves separately for each puzzle; Restart asks before clearing only the current one.

Controls

Tap a square and use the digit pad. Keyboard: 1–5 enters a digit allowed by the region, N toggles notes, arrows move, Delete/Backspace/0 erases, and Z undoes. Region and neighbor highlights update with the selected square.

A few good moves

  • Start with small regions: a two-square region can only contain 1 and 2.
  • A digit rules out the same digit in all eight touching squares, including across a bold border.
  • Look at candidates shared by squares in one region. Its digits must all appear exactly once.

Each Suguru puzzle saves its digits, candidates, selection, note mode and up to 200 undo steps in this browser. Refresh and switch puzzles to resume. If storage is unavailable, switching puzzles retains progress only within the current page session.
